The stories on the blog Ice City Almanac, about the aftermath of violence in Oakland, were reported and written between 2010 and 2016. There are the stories on the blog of survivors of gunshot wounds, of mothers and families who lost loved ones to the gun, and of Oaklanders, civilians -- many of them former victims of violence -- working to bring greater peace and healing to the traumatized city.
